Simulations of the infrared galaxy number counts and the cosmic infrared background Original Research Article

We modeled the infrared galaxy number counts and the cosmic infrared background, and examined the effect of the shape of the luminosity function. The cosmic infrared background spectrum can be well reproduced by the model regardless of the shape of the luminosity function. On the other hand, a flat luminosity function yields a better fit to the infrared number counts.
