Abstract :
Stress analysis of fan impeller by experimental and finite element method has shown that, the stress pattern in impeller components is highly complex. The stresses in the impeller components can be reduced, by using the stiffening rings on the blades. In this paper, experimental and finite element approaches have been discussed to study the stresses in centrifugal fan impeller. The flow of centrifugal fan has been also determined by using the set-up as per AMCA and NAFM guidelines. The effect of the stiffening rings on the stresses, noise and fluid flow has been also investigated and discussed.
