Abstract :
A recently-developed crystal-mechanics-based constitutive model for polycrystalline shape-memory alloys [J. Mech. Phys. Solids 49 (2001) 909] is shown to quantitatively predict the superelastic response of an initially-textured Ti–Ni alloy in (i) a proportional-loading, combined tension–torsion experiment, as well as (ii) a path-change, tension–torsion experiment.
