Abstract :
SbSI nanorods have been prepared by a known hydrothermal method at 180–190°C for the first time. X-ray diffraction patterns, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) are used to characterize the products. The as-synthesized SbSI crystalline displays a rod-like morphology with diameters of 20–50 nm and lengths up to several micrometers. The fundamental absorption edge of the SbSI nanorods is shifted to the shorter wavelength in comparison with that of bulk SbSI crystals. A possible mechanism for the formation of the SbSI nanorods is proposed.
