Abstract :
A coordination compound [Cd2(μ5-C2O4)(μ3-OH)2] 1, which was synthesized from hydrothermal reactions, possesses some attractive structural features: (a) oxalate unit exhibits a five-bridging novel coordination mode and plays a dual role simultaneously; (b) [Cd(OH)]∞ corrugated sheet and 3-D [Cd2(ox)]∞ network are intercrossed with each other in the vertical direction. Compound 1 exhibits strong fluorescent emission.
