Abstract :
An unusual μ1,1,3-cyanamido bridged trinuclear copper complex, [(2,2′-bpy)6Cu3(NCN)](ClO4)4·H2O (1) (2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Magnetic studies show the existence of large antiferromagnetic coupling between the copper(II) ions.
