Abstract
The pressure variation monitoring technique (PVMT) has been used lo measure the rate of vinyl chloride monomer sorption and desorption into and from poly(vinyl chloride) resins. Data obtained from PVMT at temperatures o( 50, 70. and 90"C arc compared with data obtained via gas chromatography and gravirnctry techniques. It is suggested that PVMT is simple lo handle for routine analysis and esay to build on a laboratory scale compared with other established techniques. Additionally, the advantages and disadvantages of PVMT compared with known routine analysis techniques such as gas chromatography and gravimetry are detailed.
