Abstract
The vulnerability to damage of the lower radiant sections of boilers for 150- and 200-MW power units are analyzed. The response of the lower radiant section to temperature and hydraulic maldistribuitions are analytically and experimentally investigated for PK-40, PK-40-1, and PK-40-2 boilers. Recommendations are given on how to ensure its reliability. It is shown that the amount of fuel required for starting up the boiler can be reduced to 0.2Dr.
