Abstract :
The intermetallic compound CePd5Ge3 has been studied by means of magnetisation, magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity and specific heat measurements. The results indicate the presence of stable Ce3+ ions, but nevertheless the compound does not order magnetically down to 2 K. However, some hints on magnetic ordering below 2 K may be deduced from anomalous low temperature behaviour of the magnetisation, resistivity and specific heat. The properties of CePd5Ge3 are discussed in terms of possible Kondo interactions.
