Abstract :
A model incorporating an itinerant band and a ‘defect band’ which develops together with doping is postulated to interpolate the two-component scenario of cuprate superconductivity. The calculated gap-like characteristics reproduce the dependencies on doping of the observed type. A pseudogap excitation is naturally present in the underdoped region. It transforms into the largest of two superconductivity gaps on passing the under/optimal doping border corresponding to the onset of bands overlap.
