Abstract :
The EPR of Cr3+ ions in ammonium cobalt sulphate hexahydrate, (NH4)2Co(SO4)2·6H2O, single crystal have been studied at room temperature at Q band frequency. Cr3+ ion replaces Co2+ ion substitutionally in two magnetically inequivalent sites and exhibit orthorhombic symmetry. The spin Hamiltonian parameters are determined. The value of g tensor is found to be largely anisotropic. The D value of both sites are evaluated and correlated with bonding between water dipoles and Cr3+ ions.
