Abstract :
A simple solution-phase approach has been developed to fabricate nickel (fcc) and cobalt (hcp) nanoparticles with narrow size distribution at 160 ∘C, in which dimethylformamide (DMF) acts as not only as solvent but also as reductant. The resultant samples are characterized by XRD and TEM to depict the phase and morphology. The hysteresis loops of the obtained samples reveal the ferromagnetic behaviors and the enhanced coercivity (Hc) and decreased saturation magnetization (Ms) in contrast to their respective bulk materials.
