Abstract :
Structural and magnetic properties of the polycrystalline Y b1−xPrxFeO3 ( 0 ≤ x < 1 ) prepared via conventional solid state reaction have been investigated. Raman spectroscopy reveals the corresponding frequencies of most bands shift gradually to lower wavenumber with increasing x due to the inflation of unit-cell after doping Pr ions. The bifurcation between zero field cooled (ZFC) and field cooled (FC) magnetization curves and a cusp in the ZFC curve at low temperature indicate glassy behavior. The cusp in the ZFC magnetization curve is just in the spin reorientation temperature range. It increases and broadens with the doping level x . Magnetic hysteresis loops at various temperatures for typical samples are analyzed. The existence of hysteresis loops and unsaturated magnetization at high field suggest weak ferromagnetism. For Pr doped samples, the weak ferromagnetism nature enhances greatly.
