Some aspects of ecological modeling developments in China

The achievements of the applications of ecological modeling to population dynamics, evolutionary and behaviour ecology, global climate change, ecotoxicology, conservation of biodiversity, sustainable use of biological resources and ecological engineering, and space analysis of ecological data are reviewed. After undergoing three evolution stages in China, some new methods and ideas for ecological modeling have been proposed. It will be a trend that quantitative in combination with qualitative methods are used in future.
