Abstract :
We have synthesized several kinds of new Eu(III)-chelated complexes to obtain pure red emission and to improve the carrier-transport properties. The PL intensity of the Eu complex-dispersed PVK film gradually increased with its dopant amount, due to the efficient energy transfer from PVK to Eu (III)-chelated complexes. Also, the first silicon-based copolymers with the Eu-chelated complexes in the main chain were successfully synthesized by Pd-catalyzed Heck reaction. Its PL spectrum shows a strong band at 613 nm in the red region, corresponding to the 5D0→7F2 transition of the trivalent Eu ion.
