Precise photoabsorption cross sections of Ne and Xe

Precise photoabsorption cross sections for Ne and Xe in the soft X-ray region are measured using a multi-electrode ion chamber. The photoabsorption cross section of Ne is very close to the previously reported data. However, there are some discrepancies in the photoabsorption cross section of Xe between the present results and the previously reported data.
