Abstract :
One megawatt CW (steady state operation) gyrotrons have been developed. The first gyrotron was the cavity mode output tube which demonstrated the one megawatt capability. The second tube is made by modifying the output mode to a Gaussian one by a built-in high efficiency quasi-optical mode converter. The designs, cold tests and preliminary test results are described.
