Abstract :
Hyperglycaemia in excess of 200 mg/dl may induce osmotic diuresis and may endanger the brain if hypoxia or brain ischaemia ensues. This recommends that glucose is a drug that should be administered with its own indication. We present a case of hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar condition secondary to intravenous Paedimaint solution infusion in a 3 year old child.
