STUDENTS’ OPINIONS ON LABOR UNIONS ORGANIZED IN EDUCATION SCHOOLING AND SCIENCE SECTORS AND ON THEIR ACTIVIES

The purpose of this research is to revealwhat 4th grades students, which study in departmentof elementary learning education in Bayburt Education Faculty of Bayburt University, thinkabout the unions, which operate in the fields of education and science, and their activities.The population of the study is comprised of 34 students (11 female and 23 male) from 4th grade in department of elementary learning education in Bayburt Education Faculty during springterm of 2010-2011 academic year. In the study, interviews form that consists of six questions,developed by researchers to determine students’ thoughts about the unions, which operate in thefields of education and science and their activities was used. Interview forms were collected, theencoding was made according to their responses to students. The data were coded and foundfrequencies, analyzed with descriptive analysis method. According to answers of the subjectsit is seen that students have some wrong information and impression about trade unions andtheir activities. Students think that trade unions are necessity but trade unions are organizationswhich work only for their own interests. Students don’t think to attend or support trade unionactivities directly.
