Abstract :
The 1999 Constitution ofNigeria guarantees freedom of religion. However Muslim female barristers in the country have been denied their rights to wear hijab, a clear violation of that constitutional guarantee. This article argues that the alleged need to maintain the standard of the legal profession as a clear breach of the constitutional right. Apparently Muslim women have right to a professional life while at the same time retain their religious identity
