MODEL MENTAL MURID TENTANG ALAM SEKITAR DI SATU KAWASAN YANG TERCEMAR

This research was conducted to study the form of students’ mental models about the environment in a polluted area in Perak. A total of 60 form four students from two secondary schools in this location were selected as participants. The methodology was qualitative with data collected from the Mental Model Tasks prepared by the researcher. Information gathered from the Mental Model Tasks were collected and analyzed. Results reveal several mental models formed in the minds of the student participants namely ‘A Perfect Environment’, ‘Environmental Problems’, ‘Interaction Between The Environment and Humans’ and ‘Solving Environmental Problems’.
