Abstract :
This paper discusses traditional Malay medicine that focuses on the popular method of treatment in Kampung Pasir Mas Kelantan. The treatment method is unique because it does not require any traditional musical instruments, no singing and no dance performances. The process of distributing treatment is carried out in front of audience who needs a small space like a living room. This method of treatment involves medical practitioners known as Tok Bagih and his assistant known as the jurubangso. The paper is aimed at examining the treatment for the treatment of psychiatric diseases and non-psychiatric diseases. In addition, this paper describes the menyiruk ceremony of the illness suffered by the patient. The data and information of this paper are obtained through field studies such as participating observations, interviews with members, nurses and patients treated. A library study was also conducted to obtain early information on this topic. The findings have shown that there was a séance process that had been taken place, whereby, tok bageh gained help from jurubangso as a mediator. This writing also found that some of the raw materials required by the family of the patients during treatment were roasted, betel nut, chalk, nut, raw water, raw water which was soaked with cold powder, omelet, eggs, sweet fat bananas, jasmine flowers, incense, raw yarn, cold powder, RM2.25 sen penalties, turmeric rice, pillows. Through this documentation it is hoped that the method of diverse treatment can be introduced to the general public and can contribute to the field of traditional Malay medicine research.
