AN ASSESSMENT ON THE PROTECTION OF IMMOVEABLE CULTURAL PROPERTIES IN TURKEY IN THE LIGHT OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS

Cultural properties are distinguished from other objects as they are more important in scientific, archeological, cultural and historical –with their existence within art historyterms and they must be approached with social, universal, historical responsibility and conserved. The object of this study is firstly defining the term cultural property considering the concept of culture and after that analyzing the legal regulations related to this issue in Turkey from past to present by taking up the protection of cultural properties in the relationship of cultural property and protection. The proficiency of legal regulations and causes of shortcomings on application are questioned emphasizing the conception of protection.
