Abstract :
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of judo techniques training and games on physical developments of 8-10 years old boys. The sample of the study was constituted by a total of 44 volunteers, 22 of which were assigned to the experiment group who did not participate any physical activity before the training program and the rest was assigned to the control group. The experimental group was subjected to a 60 minute games and judo techniques training 2 days a week for 12 weeks. Training program was modified according to relevant age group. The control group did not participate in any kinds of physical activities. Eurofit test were applied to the subjects. All tests were measured twice before and after the training program. The data was analysed by using “descriptive statistic ” and “T-test” in SPSS 16 package program. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the pre- and post-test values of body weight, height, vertical jump, horizontal jump from the stand still position, hand grip strength (right and left hands), sit up and flexibility values and a significant decrease in flamingo balance (p 0.05). There were no statistically significant changes observed in the parameters of the control group (p 0.05)
