Uneven offset method of NC tool path generation for free-form pocket machining

This paper presents a new method of generating contour-parallel tool path for free-form pocket machining. With the socalled “uneven offset” technique developed in the paper, NC tool path intervals are evidently increased without leaving an uncut area. As a result, the length of the tool path is reduced and the producing efficiency is effectively improved.
