Abstract
PURPOE: In adult with human immunodeficiency viru (HIV) infection, froted branch angiiti i commonly aociated with cytomegaloviru retiniti and repond to anti-cytomegaloviru therapy. We decribe the firt pediatric cae of HIV-aociated froted branch angiiti.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: A 7-year-old HIV-infected male with froted branch angiiti wa refractory to induction doe of intravenou ganciclovir and focarnet over a 2-month period. Although cytomegaloviru antigenemia reolved, the angiiti only improved after ubequent treatment with ytemic corticoteroid.
CONCLUION: Froted branch angiiti in thi patient wa not attributed to cytomegaloviru. The pathogenei of HIV-aociated froted branch angiiti may differ between children and adult.
