Reveral of nonarteritic anterior ichemic optic neuropathy aociated with coexiting primary antiphopholipid yndrome and Factor V Leiden mutation

PURPOE: To report nonarteric anterior ichemic optic neuropathy (NAION) a an ocular manifetation in a woman with combined primary antiphopholipid yndrome and Factor V Leiden (FVL) mutation. METHOD: Cae report of a middle-aged woman with hematological invetigation confirming the diagnoi of both primary antiphopholipid yndrome and Factor V Leiden mutation, who preented with viual diturbance in her left eye. REULT: NAION wa noted in her left eye. The patient wa promptly treated with low molecular weight heparin, followed by warfarin, which reulted in the reveral of the ichemic optic neuropathy. CONCLUION: Primary antiphopholipid yndrome and coexiting Factor V Leiden mutation hould be conidered in the differential diagnoi of NAION. Prompt treatment with anticoagulant can reult in the reveral of the ichemic proce.
