Abstract
PURPOE: To report a cae of erratia Marcecen corneal ulcer a a complication of orthokeratology treatment.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: A 9-year-old male who underwent orthokeratology treatment for 6 month uffered from a corneal ulcer. The refractive tate of leion eye wa −5.5D/−1.25D × 180°, and viual acuity wa hand motion at 30 cm. He wore a retainer len, rigid ga permeable len, overnight for 2 month before the corneal ulcer occurred. Ulcer became wore after tobramycin and gentamycin treatment for 2 day. After ciprofloxacin treatment, the ulcer healed and viual acuity recovered to 20/20 with pectacle correction. Culture of the cornea tiue and contact len torage olution both grew erratia Marcecen, which wa enitive to ciprofloxacin.
CONCLUION: Overnight wearing of a rigid contact len i a rik factor for a corneal ulcer.
