Choroidal neovacularization aociated with aplaia of the optic nerve

PURPOE: To report an unuual cae of unilateral aplaia of the optic nerve aociated with choroidal neovacularization. DEIGN: Obervational cae report. METHOD: In a 29-year-old female with optic nerve aplaia of the right eye and no choroidal neovacularization at age 23 year, choroidal neovacularization of the right eye wa preent by ophthalmocopy and fluorecein angiography. REULT: Fluorecein angiography dicloed de novo choroidal neovacularization correponding to fibrovacular proliferation evident on ophthalmocopy at age 29 year. CONCLUION: Choroidal neovacularization may develop de novo during adult life in an eye with optic nerve aplaia.
