Multiple retinal vein occluion in eential thrombocythemia

PURPOE: To report the ophthalmocopic and angiographic evidence of both temporally and patially independent multiple occluion of the retinal vein in a patient with eential thrombocythemia. METHOD: Obervational cae report. Ophthalmic examination, including fluorecein fundu angiogram, were performed on a 77-year-old male, who wa found to have eential thrombocythemia. REULT: An acute impending central retinal vein occluion in the left eye wa diagnoed with coexiting old retinal vein occluion evidenced by white veel and capillary nonperfuion in both eye. Peripheral retinal capillary dropout wa alo found angiographically in the right eye. CONCLUION: Bilateral multiple occluion of retinal vein in the preent cae ugget a prothrombotic tendency in retinal circulation in eential thrombocythemia.
