Abstract
PURPOE: To report a rare cae of multiple cactu pine embedded deep in the cornea that were removed with the aid of a fiberoptic illuminator.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: A 20-year-old man had an accidental ocular injury of the right eye when he hit a houehold miniature cactu plant. There were 80 to 90 piculated foreign bodie embedded in the cornea, ome of them even penetrating the anterior chamber.
REULT: Removal of the foreign bodie wa performed with the aid of a fiberoptic illuminator, which wa choen becaue it provide uperior viualization of the emitranlucent pine. No reidual corneal pine were found potoperatively.
CONCLUION: Houehold miniature cactu plant can caue corneal injury, with multiple foreign bodie that can be difficult to localize and remove. The ue of a fiberoptic illuminator in uch a ituation i imple and effective
