Medication ue and retinal veel diameter

Purpoe To tudy the influence of different medication on retinal veel diameter. Deign Cro-ectional tudy. Method Retinal photograph in the Beaver Dam Eye tudy (n = 4926, aged 43 to 84 year) were digitized, and the diameter of retinal veel were meaured. Participantʹ current medication were recorded at the examination. Reult There were few ignificant aociation between medication ue and retinal veel diameter. After adjuting for age, blood preure, and other factor, participant who were uing topical beta-blocker eyedrop had narrower retinal arteriolar (P = .05) and venular (P = .006) diameter than nonuer. ytemic beta-blocker wa not aociated with retinal veel diameter ize. Concluion We found few aociation between current medication ue and retinal veel diameter. Retinal veel were narrowed in thoe taking antiglaucoma medication, mot trikingly in thoe precribed topical beta-blocker, although uch a relationhip could not be etablihed among thoe uing ytemic beta-blocker.
