Abstract :
Purpoe
To report the recurrent bullou retinal detachment a complication of photodynamic therapy (PDT) for idiopathic polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy (IPCV).
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A peudophakic 84-year-old-woman had IPCV and decreaed viion. Angiography demontrated macular leakage. PDT with verteporfin wa applied. Two day later, viual acuity decreaed from 20/50 to 20/400. Examination revealed extenive inferior ubretinal fluid, which mimicked a peudophakic rhegmatogenou retinal detachment. A cleral buckle wa placed; no retinal break were identified.
Reult
Viion and fluid reolved over three week. Four month later, examination revealed decreaed viion and peritent leakage. Two day after repeat PDT, bullou exudative macular detachment recurred. Detachment reolved over two week; viual acuity returned to 20/50.
Concluion
IPCV that i treated with PDT may be complicated by iatrogenic bullou exudative retinal detachment that reemble rhegmatogenou detachment. Modified treatment parameter may reduce the rik of recurrence. The natural hitory likely include pontaneou reolution and viual recovery.
