Abstract
We isolated a novel unique pentaketide dimer designated as epoxytwinol A from the fermentation broth of a fungus. The structure of epoxytwinol A was determined to have a new carbon skeleton with C2 symmetry by elucidation of spectroscopic evidence. Epoxytwinol A inhibited endothelial cell migration stimulated by vascular endothelial growth factor (ED100= 2.6 (mu)M).
