Abstract
The deformation behavior of vinyl ester polymer
under monotonic tensile loading is characterized and
modeled. The Standard Linear Solid model, which is a
physical model, was used and modified to represent the
stress–strain behavior of this polymer over a wide range of
strain rates and temperatures. This model was also used to
predict the stress-relaxation and short-term creep behavior
of this material. The comparisons between the predictions
and experimental data from tensile and relaxation tests
demonstrate that this model can represent the deformation
behavior of the material reasonably well.
