A rapid durability test method for adhesives

The benefits from using a surface pretreatment prior to bonding to increase durability performance was demonstrated using standard accelerated environmental testing techniques. A new test method was then developed which was able to rapidly distinguish between the durability performance of two surface pretreatments. These results were obtained in a relatively short period of time, while not introducing unrealistic accelerated environments. The test specimens were also cheap and simple to manufacture.
