IntheTHINCATproject,analternativeconceptforhydrogenmitigationinalightwaterreactor(LWR)containmentisbeingdeveloped.Basedoncatalyticcoatedthermalinsulationelementsofthemaincoolantloopcomponents,itcouldbeconsideredeitherasanalternativetobackfittingpassiveautocatalyticrecombinerdevices,orasareinforcementoftheirpreventiveeffect.Thepresentpapersummarisestheresultsachievedataboutprojectmid-term.
