Abstract
Low-carbon,nitrogen-controlled316stainlesssteelcalled316FRwasdevelopedandisregardedasaprincipalcandidateforamainstructuralmaterialofliquidmetal-cooledfastbreederreactorplantsinJapan.Todevelopacreep-fatigueevaluationmethodsuitableforthissteel,anumberofuniaxialcreep-fatiguetestshavebeenconductedforthreeproductsofthissteel.Long-termdatauptoabout35,000hwereobtainedandapplicabilityoffailurelifepredictionmethodswasstudiedbasedupontheirresults.Cruciformshapedspecimenswerealsotestedunderbiaxialloadingconditionstoexaminetheeffectofstressmultiaxialityonfailurelifeundercreep-fatiguecondition.
