Multiple Solutions of a Nonlinear Boundary Value Problem with Application to Chemical Reactor Dynamics

A nonlinear boundary value problem is studied whose bifurcation structure yields an arbitrarily large number of solutions as the parameters are varied appropriately. The result is applied to certain model equations for chemical reactors of the plug flow type.
