Detection of pulmonary nodules in chest X-rays play an important role in early detection of lung cancer. In this research, we developed an image-processing technique for suppressing the contrast of ribs and
clavicles in chest X-rays. We present a technique based on Independent Component Analysis (lCA) for the suppression ofposterior ribs and clavicles which will enhance the visibility of the nodule and aid the radiologist in the diagnosis process .
