This study aims at investigating the levelof using alternative assessment strategies amongEnglish language teachers in the preparatory stagein governmenl schools in Gaza. The study used thedescriptive analytical approach, through designinga questionnaire that consisted of (6) domains and(30) items. The questionnaire was distributedto (90) English teacherseof preparatory stage.The study also used semi-structured interviews,which werehconducted with (25) English teachersof the same stage. The study revealed that theuse of alternative assessment strategies amongthe teachers was moderate; it with a (54.24%).The study found that there were no statisticallysignificant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the levelof using alternative assessment strategies amongEnglish language teachers due to their genderand experience. The study recommends that theMinistry of education should conduct workshopsto train ELTs to use alternative assessmentstrategies.
