چكيده عربي :
This paper is devoted to identify the difficulties encountered by Arabic-speaking EFL learners in handling English pronouns that are hypothesized to be perplexing. Itis easy to explain what pronouns are: they are specializedkinas of nouns for the purpose of reference, avoidance of repetition and explaining ownership. But, this explanation isnot enough to describe English pronouns that are wrongly included within nouns by some traditional books of English grammar. There are several types of pronouns, other than personal pronouns whose definition has just been introducedabove. In addition to personal pronouns, there are othertypes called relative pronouns that have different uses: to refer to a noun mentioned before and of which we are addingmore information, to function as objects of prepositions, andto modify the preceding nouns. Moreover, reflexive pronouns are specialized kinds of pronouns that are used when the subject and the object of transitive verbs are alike.Emphatic pronouns; however, are used for the purpose of emphasizing the subject and are also different from the reflexive pronouns in the positions they can occupy within a sentence.
