The course and legitimacy of the results of the electoral process are not only related to the rules and frameworks regulating it, but are also affected by the balances and forms of relations existing between its various main and secondary parties, including the nature of the relationship that exists between the state (official institutions) that oversees the preparation and conduct of the electoral process, and the various institutions of society We try through this paper to clarify and define the nature of the relationship between the institutions of Algerian civil society on the one hand, and the state as an institution for conducting the electoral process on the other hand, and how this relationship affects the role played by civil society institutions in the elections an‎d on the process of the electoral process, democracy and the legitimacy of its results by reading the electoral experiences that Algeria knew.
