منزلة علم الكلام عند ابن خلدون في مقدمته دراسة تحليلية

This research aims to demonstrate the position of theology according to Ibn Khaldoun in his book AlMuqaddimah. An introduction to his life and time was given as he is considered one of the scholars of the western part of the Arab world who enriched Islamic thought. The research dealt with Ibn Khaldoun's statement which included ،the definition of theology ،its subject ،virtue ،origins and development. Also it dealt with the characteristics of its development in all its stages ،and showed the difference between theology and philosophy in dealing with Islamic creeds topics. This research we came to some points in the conclusion ،the most important of which is that Ibn Khaldoun has related theology to the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamaah specifically the Asharies school of thought. He is also of the opinion of the necessity of relying upon the textual and rational evidence in proving the issues of Islamic creeds
