In order to investigate the behavior of a light airplane and
landing gear at the time of different maneuvers, a
dynamic analysis and different loading effects on it will
be of high importance. On the other hand, in order to
extend the landing gear scheme and its optimum
planning, the calculation of impact forces (after the
wheels touch the ground) on the landing gear as well as
the determination of the shock absorber stroke will be
completely essential. The two common methods to
calculate the impact forces and the shock absorber stroke
is to use the kinematic energy and the vibration analysis
with sprung mass, unsprung mass, spring and damper
considerations. Assuming nonlinearity of the tire and the
shock absorber are the main advantage of this research.
At the end, the final model of landing gear has been
simulated in the MCS ADAMS software in order to
verify the impact forces and the shock absorber stroke.
The good accuracy of the simulation data and simplicity
in the landing gear modeling are the other important
features of this approach.
