هوشمندي كسب ‌و‌كار -BI- اغلب به عنوان يك اصطلاح چتر گونه براي سيستم هاي پشتيباني تصميم -DSS- در مقياس بزرگ مورد استفاده قرار مي گيرد و در حال حاضر بزرگترين بخش سرمايه گذاري فناوري اطلاعات در سازمان‌هاست كه در چند سال اخير به عنوان اولويت برتر فناوري در سراسر جهان رتبه بندي شده است. در دوره كنوني تصميم‌گيري نقش مهمي را در افزايش توان رقابتي ايفا مي‌كند و سيستم هاي BI در سطوح مختلف تصميم گيري سازمان مي‌توانند بسيار موثر باشند. به طور كلي اهميت استفاده از BI در سطوح استراتژيك در صنايع پيچيده تر و وابسته تر به اطلاعات بيشتر است. در اين مقاله ارتباط BI با تغيير، تدوين و تعقيب استراتژي سازمان تشريح گرديده و اين ارتباط در سطوح مختلف سازمان مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. همچنين الزامات و مهارت‌هاي پياده سازي موفق BI كه يكي از مهمترين آن‌ها تدوين استراتژي مناسب و همسو با استراتژي كسب و كار مي‌باشد، مورد توجه قرار گرفته است.

Business intelligence -BI- is often used as an umbrella term for decision support systems -DSS- on a large scale and right now BI is the largest part of IT investment in organizations which has been ranked as the top priority of technology worldwide over the last few years. Currently, decision making plays an important role in increasing competitive ability and BI systems at the different levels of decision making can be very effective. In general, the importance of using BI at strategic levels in the industry is more complex and more dependent on more information. In this article BI communication with Changing, designing and pursuing an organization s strategy is described. And this relationship has been studied at different levels of the organization. Also, the requirements and skills of successful BI implementation which is one of the most important ones is Developing a strategy which consistent with the business strategy, is taken into consideration.
