In this paper, a fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysis is done for a small-scale horizontal axis wind turbine composite blade. The blade s geometry is modeled in SolidWork software and composite properties are assigned to the model. Then, the model is imported to ANSYS Fluent software to simulate an incompressible and steady flow around the blade. Composite properties are assigned to the model by ANSYS Composite Processing (ACP). Drag force, lift force and shear stress distribution around the composite blade is estimated and deflection of the composite blade is reported. Finally, the obtained numerical results are analyzed and some conclusions are drawn.
