Due to the excessive use of fossil fuels to meet energy needs, mankind has caused increasing environmental pollution and the occurrence of numerous environmental crises in the earth. The sun is a free, abundant and renewable resource. The growing need for the development and implementation of environmentally friendly technologies and demand for natural light as a substitute for fossil fuels and increased awareness of the benefits of this light has led to the construction and production of various systems that will meet these needs and at the same time solve some disadvantages of the presence of daylight in spaces.
Lighting is an important factor in the visual experience of the environment, performance of tasks and in the use of energy in the building. In this paper, after reviewing the concept of sustainable architecture, we refer to the topic of natural light, and then we introduce the natural light systems and their applications in the sustainable architecture. To do this, we will use a descriptive and library method to identify the relevant systems.
