Corrosion resistance of the AM60B Magnesium alloy must be improved before any application. In this study, strontium phosphate conversion coating as an environmentally friendly and economic coating was applied on Mg alloy. Morphology, composition and corrosion behaviour of the coatings were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, respectively. The results showed that this conversion layer improved the corrosion performance of the alloy to some extent.
