Medicinal plants have played an important role in the treatment of many diseases[1]. Borage (Echium amoenum fisch) is one of the most commonly used medicinal plants, and has long been used as a traditional herbal medicine for many (non)infectious diseases in Iran[2]. The flowers of Echium amoenum fisch were collected, washed, shade dried, powdered and extracted with methanol using soxhlet apparatus. The extract were concentrated and analyzed by Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry(GC-MS) for the identification of biochemical compounds present in the flowers of Echium amoenum fisch. the major compounds were 9,12-octadecanoic acid (16.74%); Palmitic acid (7.43%); Pentacosan (5.67%); 3-hydroxy-2,3-dihydromaitol (5.65%); Coumaran (5.63%); 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (5.12%); Tricosan (3.77%) and α-Angelica lactone (2.1%).
